Preparing while still working
Almost nobody in our directory studies full time. Preparation happens after shifts, between rotas, on days that were meant to be off, in blocks that get cancelled by clinical demand. Under those conditions the binding constraint is not knowledge or motivation — it is that a plan made on Sunday collapses by Wednesday.
A book that allocates the days rather than leaving you to is worth more in that situation than another content text.
What it does
Distributes 27 chapters across 60 days, weighted by examination yield. Areas that carry marks get repeated passes; areas that do not get one pass and are then dropped deliberately. Most doctors find the dropping harder than the studying, and it is where the schedule earns its keep.
The final ten days hold no new material at all — retrieval practice and timed papers only.
Recovering a slipped schedule
Because clinical work will disrupt it, the book states which days can be compressed and which cannot. That is unusual and, for a working clinician, the most practically useful feature in it.
